The project

Canal 44, a characterful address opening onto
a verdant garden

the emblematic building
is getting a facelift

Located at 44 rue du Canal, in the heart of Esch-sur-Alzette, this building, which is included on the city’s heritage list, is being prepared in order to accommodate new housing units as well as numerous services on the ground floor.

Built in 1938 for a historic press group, the building and in particular its iconic stone façade decorated with bas-reliefs and its travertine and terrazzo entrance have been the focus of particular attention in order to preserve the original memory of the neighbourhood.

A number of interior architectural elements will be carefully restored to preserve the soul of the building and emphasise its character. At the rear, three new residential buildings will be built around a quiet verdant garden.

Canal 44,
a characterful address

With performance and concert venues (Rockhal, Kulturfabrik, Théâtre), cinema, bars, restaurants, parks, swimming pool, shopping centre and university library, the city of Esch and its new Belval district invite you to make the most of every moment.

Located a 5-minute walk from the city’s main shopping street, Canal 44 consists of 4 residential buildings.

From the studio to the 3-bedroom penthouse, the light-bathed apartments with high-quality finishes are contemporary in style.
The car parks located in the basement help to free up the surface so as to create a peaceful, verdant and safe garden.
